Wire and Cable Closure
Single Wire Sternum Sutures
Nonabsorbable, sterile, surgical sutures used in sternal closure that are available in multiple diameters and lengths with a variety of needle sizes and tip configurations.
Discover MoreDoubleWire™ Sternal Closure System
The DoubleWire suture provides increased surface area and strength compared to that of a single wire suture of the same gauge and material. The DoubleWire Twister is designed to enable quick and easy installation.
Discover MoreSternal Cable System
Designed to be an improved alternative over traditional monofilament sternal wire with a stronger closure using multiple “figure 8” construction.¹
Discover MoreSingle Wire Sternum Sutures
- Designed to conform to the contours of the sternum and to enhance approximation.
- Conforms more closely to the contours of the sternum than other less flexible wires.
- Meets the ASTM F138 & 5832-1 standards for implant grade surgical fixation sternotomy suture wire.3
DoubleWire Sternal Closure System
- Consists of a looped wire suture with an attached ball-end or cutting needle that can be inserted simultaneously either transsternal or peristernal.
- Two wires provide increased surface area and strength compared to that of a single wire suture of the same gauge and material.
- The DoubleWire Twister allows for a one-handed technique that simultaneously applies tension and twist the suture for final approximation of the sternum.
Sternal Cable System
- Approximately ten times stronger in fatigue strength as compared to standard sternal wire.2
- The tensioning system permits adjustment of the cable intra-operatively to a known value, allowing for consistency in pressure along the midline.
- Unique multi-strand design uniformly hugs the bone in a “figure 8” construct, while reducing the risk of kinking.
- Diameter 1.1mm SS and 1.3mm Ti
- Low profile crimp.
